The history of the school
Destiny Life Academy is a Christian Co-Educational high school based on the Dolphin Coast, South Africa.
Founded in 2010, we are committed to the best practice for our students in all aspects of our school.
The Christian values that we strive to instill in our students, lead them on their journey through young adulthood and beyond.
We believe that each student is destined for greatness and as a school family we are here to guide, support and celebrate them.
Each and every child that God brings into our school family adds value to Destiny Life Academy.
The school was established by Peter and Ilana Markgraaff, who saw a need for a Christian high school in the Ballito area.
Together with the elders of the Destiny Life Church (now ‘Encounter’) they followed the call of God and started the school using the Destiny Life Church grounds.
When it was time for them to move to a greater calling, they handed over the reins to Colleen Moodley and Niki Balkovic.
In the years that have passed DLA has thrived – from just a handful of students to a fully functioning independent school today.
Destiny Life Academy has also been blessed with caring, committed and highly qualified teachers who have embraced the unique DLA culture and have been instrumental in nurturing the next generation for the last 11 years.
We look forward to all that lies ahead.
