Energy, talent and heart lit up the stage at Crawford International Preparatory School as pupils staged their dazzling production of Annie JR last month.

The 60-minute musical (condensed for primary school performers) captured the timeless story of Annie, a brave young orphan with an unshakable spirit, a dream of family and an unexpected adventure with billionaire Oliver Warbucks.

The audience was swept away by toe-tapping musical numbers, witty dialogue and heartfelt performances that brought beloved characters to life.

Grade 7 pupil Tayden Naidoo charmed as the kind-hearted billionaire Mr Warbucks, while Vrishti Singh (Grade 6) shone as the spirited Annie.

Guided by head of drama and director Sindi Mavimbela, the young cast’s dedication and teamwork reflected the school’s spirit of community and creativity.
