Mandeni pupil represents SA in Norway music exchange
The initiative is a collaboration between the Norwegian Academy of Music, the Norwegian Music Federation and the Field Band Foundation
Mandini Academy continues to hit the right notes on the global stage, thanks to its growing partnership with the Field Band Foundation.
Pupil Nkosingiphile Zikhali recently represented Mandini Academy at the Norwegian Academy of Music, where he met Prof. Jon Helge during an international exchange programme titled Chords of Communication.
The initiative is a collaboration between the Norwegian Academy of Music, the Norwegian Music Federation and the Field Band Foundation. It promotes the exchange of academic and musical ideas, with a strong focus on inclusive teaching methods and the role of music in brain development from early childhood and beyond.
Mandini Academy also showcased its talent at the National Field Band Competition, held at Wanderers Stadium in October, where its performers took home one of the coveted trophies.
“This partnership has reaped wonderful results, as our school has taken the stage in the national competition and it has created international opportunities for our pupils,” said principal Desigan Pillay.
