Restaurant review – Key Largo Spur
It is and always will be one of South Africa’s favourite family restaurants.

I think most people recall visiting a Spur sometime in their lives, it’s almost a South African institution. Most of us at least have had one friend who’s been a waiter at Spur.
I popped into Key Largo Spur at the Junction and found not much has changed at SA’s favourite family restaurant. It really does place the emphasis on family. Kids love Spur. You can’t beat the vibe and the excitement of celebrating your birthday at a place where you are made to feel extra special.
I had the rib and buffalo wing combo and I must say they were not bad, beside the ribs being trifle cold when I got them. The buffalo wings are quite delectable especially when eaten with a generous helping of the Spur French fry dressing. It was a very generous helping and more than enough for me.
My dinning companion had the half portion of nachos. I always seem to think of nachos when I think a Spur and their nacho’s are pretty good.
I see that they are running quite a few promotions, like ‘buy one get one free’ burger on a Monday, kids eat free on a Wednesday and bottomless ribs and buffalo wings on a Thursday. If you go for these specials its great value for money. I find the normal menu a bit pricey for a family restaurant.
But besides that the kiddie’s area is more than you can ask for and the service is good.
It is and always will be one of South Africa’s favourite family restaurants.
