Last week was a very exciting week in the life of Dolphin Coast Striders.
Well done to all the Dolphins who took part in the Supa Mama Challenge.
The new route proved to be extremely challenging and very hilly.
This however did not dampen Muzi Cele and Jenny Scott’s spirits as they crossed the finish line smiling in a strong time of 2:06.
The dictionary definition of the word camaraderie is “mutual trust and friendship among people who spend a lot of time together”.
When I see fellow Dolphins crossing the finish line together I am reminded that this camaraderie is still very much alive and well in our club.
Thank you to everyone who attended Wednesday’s meeting at the clubhouse.
It was encouraging to see the passion and enthusiasm of our members.
We appreciate the discussion that took place regarding the upcoming move and have taken on board many of your thoughts and comments.
As outlined in the constitution, we remain committed to promote, foster and administer the sport of road running within our territory.
This mandate includes walking, and fundamentally we exist to support and encourage our members to achieve their goals, whether it is 5km, half a marathon or the mighty Comrades.
It is important to reiterate that we do not want to loose a single member as we move the running and walking element to the Salt Rock Country Club.
We hope everyone will join us in growing the Dolphins into an even stronger running club.
From September 1 the morning runs (5am), time trails and club runs will all be starting from the Salt Rock Country Club.
We would like to take the opportunity to invite everyone to the Mama G’s braai night on Wednesday, August 26 at the thatch club house.
The time trail will start at 5.30pm followed by our usual bring and braai with live music.
The first time trail from Salt Rock Country Club will take place on Wednesday, September 2 starting at 5.45pm. Come and enjoy a new route and a new challenge.
