Jeremy Charles Davis was born on October 2, 1967 and sadly passed away, way too early, on November 14, 2015.
Jem was a devoted and loving father to Joe and Max and loved and adored his wife Cara.
In fact Jem loved and adored everyone he knew. He was the best friend a person could ever have hoped for. His commitment and loyalty to his friends was one of his most endearing characteristics.
A good measure of a man is not how many friends he has but rather how long he has had his friends for. From his early days growing up in Salt Rock, attending Umhlali Primary School and then his time at Hilton College, Jem developed many strong friendships that have lasted over 40 years! To call Jem a friend seems unfair, lots of people are friends. Jem was so much more than that, he was more like a brother and we were all lucky to have him as a part of our lives.
There was never a bad time to visit or call Jem. His home was always open to his giant family of friends. I have so many fond memories of the Davis home in Knox Road, it was a home away from home for many of us.
Jem spent the last couple of years living in White River with Cara so I saw him less than I would have liked. I chatted to him for a long time about two weeks ago and I remember putting the phone down and thinking “Jem sounds so happy”.
Jem I will always remember you mate, your big smile, your cheerful laugh and your friendship. You were the best my friend, as good as it gets. We love you.
