Report Back Colin Marsh – 25 December 2015

I was privileged to walk the Promenade today. I can report that most of the repairs have been carried out or are in the process of being done.

The security people were very visible and looked good in their nice uniforms. I saw holidaymakers enjoying the beaches and joggers and walkers just enjoying our beautiful boardwalk. My wish is for no drowning accidents and no muggings and other nonsense for the whole holiday period.

2015 has nearly closed out and we can reflect on drought/water restrictions, Nkandlagate, not winning the Ellis Webb Trophy, all the Parastatals that attracted attention for the wrong reasons and now recently the reckless President playing around with our hard earned money.

The students also had their fun and it will spill over to next year and of course next year brings about the much talked local elections. There will be new players contesting this time around and with the ruling party imploding from factionalism caused by power and greed, we can look forward to political dynamics never before seen in South Africa.

Once the elections are over the new dynamic will be coalition politics and this will bring about very strange bedfellows. There will be a registration weekend in February and another in March. Watch out for billboards and posters and of course newspaper ads.

My plea to every clear thinking South African is to find at least five other like-minded colleagues or friends or family and convince them how important it is to cast a vote and more importantly to vote for a proven party that can govern well and lead the country to its glory once again.

I always say thank you to our wonderful service providers like the Dolphin Coast Waste Management, Kwaffel , IPPS, Sembcorp, Alberlito Hospital, Quinton and his volunteers and of course The Green Team from the Conservancy, plus the ever growing Courier.
