What a difference it makes to our lives when we walk into a shop and get the most amazing welcome and service!

It sends us back to the same shop time and time again.

Service is key, and I would like to start off by giving a huge bouquet to three people who have always given great service – not just to me and my family, it seems, but to others I have spoken to.

Sanele from the IBar is one of the most helpful, knowledgeable people on all things techno. He is always ready to help, no matter how busy he is.

Karen at Red Square has the kindest nature (very useful in the beauty industry) and will go out of her way to find exactly the right product.

Finally, Sipho in the kitchen at Spar – he goes the extra mile to help if one is in a hurry for something out of the ordinary. Thanks guys, you rock!

I took the time recently to list my home on Airbnb for the Festive Season and was amazed at how easy it was – tidying up the house to get some decent pix was the hardest part!

The thing is to think about what BALLITO has going for it – as well as what you would like them to know about the accommodation on offer.

This is the fun part. Think airport proximity; Lifestyle Shopping Centre; fabulous beaches; golf courses galore; game parks down the road; markets, microlighting…

The list is endless. Include all the fun stuff in your listing and you will be inundated with potential guests.

So what you need to do is check on the site – to see what renting out your property entails.

If you like it, download the App. Once you have listed your home, they will send you regular updates on who has visited your site etc.

Trust is high on their list of priorities, as is authenticity, reliability, fairness and security.

You are able to carefully screen potential guests and make sure they’re a good match for what you have to offer.

I’ve spoken to several people who have used the system in the past – either as renters or hosts and from what I can gather, everything has run very smoothly.

Now you just need to find a spot to head off to for your own holiday.
