#Reportback: Working together for a better Ward 22
Councillor Privi Makhan reflects on a successful year for the Ward.
Over the past year, our ward has seen remarkable progress through the many projects and partnerships that continue to strengthen our community.
From infrastructure improvements to environmental care, this has been a year of real collaboration.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of our residents and businesses, local organisations and civic partners, we’ve completed several community-driven projects. Our local cleaning and greening initiatives, led by the Dolphin Coast Conservancy and Dolphin Coast Waste Management, have transformed our surroundings, keeping public areas beautiful, safe and sustainable.
Equally inspiring is the work of the iLembe Chamber of Commerce, which continues to champion entrepreneurship and support small business growth. Their commitment to developing local talent and promoting economic opportunity makes a real difference in the lives of many.
What makes our ward so special is the incredible spirit of partnership that exists here. Whether it’s volunteers giving up their time, community groups taking the initiative, or residents coming together to solve problems, the goodwill and pride in our area is evident everywhere.
Looking ahead, I want to encourage everyone – particularly those who have recently joined our community – to register to vote. Your voice matters in shaping the future of this vibrant and growing area. Together, we can continue building a ward that reflects the best of who we are – a community full of possibility.
