The North Coast Karate Academy welcomed Hanshi Sonny Pillay (eighth Dan) as students took part in their belt gradings.
Sensei Carlos Vilela, CEO of the National Federation Karate South Africa, was very impressed and pleased by the standard of the students and the dedication they have shown throughout the year.
“They all deserved their belts and have worked hard to meet the requirements of each advance grading” said Vilela.
The results were: Bo Beukes (purple), Iona Kruger (orange), Jorga Kalil (orange), Matt Kalil (orange), Tiago Vilela (red 1), Ethan Nyirenda (yellow), Christoph Lukhele (orange), Ahmed Collier (white with red stripe), Sian Beck (yellow), Junior Collier (orange), Edward van der Linde (purple), Atu Nyirenda (yellow), Nathan Nagel (orange).
Karate offers a great alternative to other regular exercise as it focus’ on your core, stamina and muscle development.
The Academy holds training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursday from 5-6 pm and caters for adults and children from White to Black belts.
