Charity the winner at Ballito Open

Locals play for Orphan Fund.

Locals and holiday makers alike lined up on the tee-boxes of the Umhlali Country Club to participate in the 18th edition of the Ballito Open Charity Golf Day on December 27.
The event has become a firm favourite on the local golfing calender, with many players putting their names down as early as a year in advance.
The weather played its part as a full field of 34 four-balls teed off in near perfect conditions. Ballito Open organiser, Malcolm Mann, expressed his satisfaction with the event’s continued success and ultimately the money raised in support of charity.
A total of R30, 503 was raised and all proceeds went to the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund.
The organisers thanked Micros for raising money through the marshmallow drive competition, the sponsors and all the players.
