BSS soccer festivals take off

The first of six BSS festivals kicked-off on Friday.

Brazilian Soccer Schools (BSS) launched the North Coast inter schools Futsal and Futebol de Salão soccer festivals at Ashton International College on Friday.
Under 13 players from Umhlali College, Crawford North Coast, Sizani Primary School and Ashton International College battled it out in the first of six festivals. Some good football was played and BSS players stood out from others on the pitch.
Sizani and Crawford proved too strong for the competition as they went unbeaten, while Ashton and Umhlali held their own and displayed skill and enthusiasm.
Three teams competed in the U18 age group and the invitational team from Crawford North Coast excelled against Sizani and Ashton.
Girls also joined in on the fun as 20 young ladies aged between 14 and 17 played in an exhibition match.
Each festival will see specific age groups between six and 18 battling it out each Friday afternoon for the next five weeks. Each week Brazilian Soccer Schools will nominate a gifted player who will receive four complimentary training sessions.
The initiative is managed and sponsored by Brazilian Soccer Schools North Coast, with the assistance of Ballito Lifestyle Centre who funded Sizani’s participation. La Piazza is also offering R50 vouchers to every player.
