Off the lip surfing for Movember

Rock out with your seventies look at the Quiksilver Off The Lip Movember Surf Jam.

Movember is going retro this weekend with the Quiksilver Off The Lip Surf Jam hosted in partnership with the Movember Foundation.

The second event of this series will be held at Beach Bums in Tongaat on Saturday from 10am and promises to be a super fun event for a really good cause.

The first event was held on November 1 in Llandudno, Cape Town.

All the proceeds of the event will go to Cansa and the Movember Foundation in aid of prostate and testicular cancer.

The surfing competition will feature ten six-man-heats with the traditional beach start.

There are prizes for the best dressed and best manouveres.

The women are not excluded and there will also be a prize for the best Mo Sista of the event.

The surfers are encouraged to rock some seventies gear and serious moustaches, but will also be riding some classic old school surfboards.

“We are very proud to be associated with Movember and such a good cause, we really hope that the surf community can pull together to support the event. It promises to be a fun day out with some classic traditional surfing,” said Quiksilver’s Dane Patterson.
