A total of 116 young ladies traveled up hill and were kept in high spirit and motivation by the video message from CEO of Sharks rugby John Smit and the positive chats from fitness and mental coach Bob Russell.
“It is important to remember that she who says she can and she who says she can’t, are both usually right and to remember that we can,” said Russell.
The days were long and the girls had to prove their stamina, as the games started at 8am and most teams played two to three games a day, everyday, but McCullum. and her girls took the message to heart and showed that they can.

The grand finale was on Sunday, April 12, and KZN was in it.
“The competition was very tough and the girls were exhausted at the end of the week, but it was all worth it,” said McCullum.
“It went exceptionally well and KZN won a medal in every category,” she said
