The KZN Judo Tournament was held on April 26 at Gladiator Fight Academy in New Germany. Several children from Umhlali Preparatory, who train under Shihan Judo Academy, took part and were stand-out performers at the event.
Tavian Bowman won gold in the U7, under 24kg category, with Ry Colepeper taking silver and Reegan McDowell the bronze medal. Tori Pearson won gold in the U6, under 19kg division, while Sedge Pearson took home the silver in the U8, under 24kg division.
Levi Wingrove secured gold in the U8, under 30kg category with Ewan Miskin taking silver in the under 34 kg category. Hannah-Rose Williams won gold in the U9, under 32 kg division while her twin, Kjell Williams, won gold in the under 42 kg category.
Erin Sharples took gold in the U10, under 40kg category.
In the advanced section Ethan Power secured the golf medal in the U9s, under 50kg division.
