Epic final day set for Ballito Pro

Sunday a new champion will be crowned.

The quarterfinalists for the Ballito Pro presented by Billabong has been decided and Sunday will see a champion for the Ballito Pro 2015 crowned.

The contest was called on at 7am Saturday morning where surfers in round three tackled the waves at Bathers Beach and the first and second placed contenders progressed to round four.

As the swell started to push through, organisers decided to move the contest to the main surfing peak at Surfer’s for the eight heats in round four.

It was a great decision with surfers getting to work with overhead waves and going for broke with massive aerial manouveres.

Brazil’s Alejo Muniz dropped an excellent display of surfing in the first heat in the round of 16 and with his win, moved to the top of the World Qualifying Series rankings.

On Sunday organisers will make the call at 7am when the quarters, semis and finals will take place.

The Monster Energy Expression Session presented by Zigzag will run between the semis and finals where ten of the most exciting local surfers from the event will let loose as the winner will go home R20 000 richer.

The upcoming Ballito Pro quarterfinal match-ups are:
Q1: Alejo Muniz (BRA) vs. Kanoa Igarashi (USA)
Q2: Italo Ferreira (BRA) vs. Caio Ibelli (BRA)
Q3: Mitch Coleborn (AUS) vs. Santiago Muniz (ARG)
Q4: Davey Cathels (AUS) vs. Soli Bailey (AUS)
