Bring on Durban 2022

No African city has ever hosted the Commonwealth Games.

The city of Durban will be holding their breaths until Wednesday when it is expected to be confirmed as the host city for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Durban is the only candidate left standing after the Canadian city of Edmonton withdrew their bid last year due to financial reasons.

Members of the Commonwealth family of nations and territories visited the city earlier this year to finalise their decision.

Britain have hosted the Games six times, Australia and Canada four times each, New Zealand three times, and Jamaica, Malaysia and India once each.

If Durban is chosen as the hosts, it will be the first African city to do so.

Check out their website here.
