Ballito’s Mohsin Mohamed shot his way to the top spot on the podium once again at the IPSC three gun championships.
Some call him machine gun Mohamed, but he is actually a shotgun guy.
“I began shooting in 2011 and got into competing professionally in 2012 in the shotgun category,” said Mohamed.
First he used to shoot with an old Winchester 1300 Defender pump action shotgun given to him by his father.
“I won a few comps with that in the standard pump action division, but I now shoot a Winchester SX3 Raniero Testa Ltd Edition in the standard semi auto shotgun division.”
Mohamed said he has always had a knack for shooting, but his performance improved tremendously when he started to work on his fitness.
“Improving my fitness and lifestyle played a big part in my performance as a sport shooter. Stacy Whitehead from Eden Sports Massage and Supplements based at IMF Gym helped me to follow a proper diet, supplementing and training.”
Mohamed will compete at national level next year working towards the next Shotgun World Shoot competition.
