Nkobongo Sundowns claim Footy honours

Many of the winning team's players came through Footy's soccer development programme sponsored by African Bank between 2011 and 2019.

An electrifying atmosphere was evident at the Footy pitch at Townsend Park on Saturday, January 20, as 12 teams battled it out for the honours in the African Bank championship.

The bank’s sponsorship allowed teams, from Tongaat and Nkobongo to enter at no cost.

Following the group and knockout stages, Nkobongo Sundowns and Indoor Masters advanced to the final showdown, with Sundowns lifting the trophy with a 4-3 win.
