Ballito Dolphins juniors dominate during well-supported home fixture
The young rugby stars won 11 out of 12 games in the last game of the season at Umhlali Prep.
Ballito Dolphins junior rugby hosted an epic season finale at Umhlali Preparatory School on Sunday.
A record number of team entries from clubs across KwaZulu-Natal made for an exciting day as the junior rugby season, which began in Hillcrest in April, drew to a close.
The five age groups of the mini juniors (U5-U11) delivered a strong showing, winning 11 of 12 matches. Notably, the U10s and U11s remained undefeated for two and three consecutive years, respectively.

Ballito Dolphins Junior Rugby chairman Quinton Nagel said it had been another phenomenal season for the ever-growing club.
“We had an epic hosting day on Sunday. All through the season, the boys have played exceptionally well. We have never lost more than three games across any of the 11 match-day weekends this season,” he said.

Friends and families filled Umhlali Prep’s outer rugby fields for a day of action-packed junior rugby, as young players showcased their skills and passion for the game.
The highlight of the day was a famous 5-0 victory by the mini-Dolphins U9s over long-time rivals Crusaders Rugby Club from Durban North.
The final whistle sparked wild celebrations from players, parents and coaches alike, with the field transformed into a sea of cheers and high-fives – a proud and fitting end to a successful season.
