Durban Symphonic Choir to perform Christmas concert in Ballito

Local soloists to feature.

Two young soloists will perform along side the Durban Symphonic choir at the Ballito Dutch Reformed church on Sunday November 30.

The feast of Christmas songs will showcase the talents of Crawford college pupil Robyn Gillespie and Ashton pupil Sabrina Loubser.

Robyn sings and plays the piano and the violin.

She played in the KZN Youth Orchestra in 2012 and in 2013 was awarded trophies for both voice and violin at the Queensburgh Festival.

Robyn has sung in concerts and functions at school and at Flame Lily Park retirement centre and she performs annually at the Crawford Urban Pops also with the KZN philharmonic orchestra.

Robyn was awarded gold at this year’s SASMT Vocal Festival and passed her grade five singing exam with distinction.

Sabrina has been passionate about singing and anything musical since a young age.

She currently studies music (including voice) at school and privately and obtained half and full colours form Ashton for her musical achievements.

This year Sabrina was awarded gold in the SASMT Vocal Festival and also passed her grade five singing exam with distinction. She performed in the SASMT Senior Students’ concert, and at the Flame Lily Park retirement centre.

Tickets for the show are R70 for adults and R60 for pensioners and children and can be bought at Postnet (Lifestyle Centre), 3@1 (Ballito Junction) or the Courier offices. Call Kirsten on 032-946-0276.
