Shakashead’s got talent
Shakashead youth group host its fourth annual awards day.
Shakashead youth group Ulwazi Lwethu Art and Entertainment hosted its fourth annual awards day on December 5 at Shakashead community hall.
Ulwazi Lwethu specialise in drama, poetry, traditional music, gum boot dance, comedy, hip-hop and vocal music.
“We would like to thank all those who made our day a success,” said group member Thandekile Masele.
Awards were presented as follows: Best female vocalist – Asanda Sibiya; Best male vocalist – Simangaliso Khuzwayo; Best female poet – Inamandla Zulu; Best male poet – Lucky Mkhize; Best female comedian – Nomandla Mthembu; Best male comedian – Khetha Mthembu; Best gumboots dancer – Nkosingiphile Mhlanjwa; Best Hip-hop singer – Mandisa Sibiya and Asanda Sibiya took the best of the best in 2014 award.
If you would like to join the group you are invited to attend their auditions on January 12 at Thembalabasha Care Centre. The auditions will start at 1.30pm.
