Theatre Decadence

A proudly Durban stage production happening in February.

If you are looking for a good stage production, then you should definitely put Decadence down as a must-see in your diary for February.

This proudly Durban production is a music revue written by Mikhale Singh, directed by Preven Reddy and choreographed by Veronique Ellis.

The show is set during the 1940’s Burlesque era and follows the journey of Anastasia, a beautiful young dancer who enjoys walking the line between being a model performer on the straight and narrow and giving into her darker desires on occasion.

The show was designed to be an entertaining look at the Burlesque era, and how it has influenced modern music and dance.

Decadence features Sarah Thompson, Shannon Newton, Nqobile Mahlambi, Nidaal Hassim, and also introduces Jason Jefferys and Kyle Trytsman.

Ballito’s own Shannyn Zorab can also be seen in the show dancing and acting.

Her character’s name is also Shannyn and she is the right hand lady to Ceceila, who is one of the main characters in the show.

Tickets are R100 and available online from Webtickets.

The show will take place at Durban High School’s Seabrooke’s theatre.

The opening night is on February 20 and will be shown until February 25.
