Night of Jazz

Don't miss out on the KZN Youth Orchestra's performance on the North Coast.

The talented KZN Youth Orchestra will be performing in a concert “Classic Blast” on the North Coast in March.

The concert will be held at Crawford North Coast on Friday, March 6 and will present a programme of music embracing a classic repertoire and some symphonic jazz and pop. Shruti and Viashnav Teeluck on the sitar and tabla will perform the original Indian classical piece.

The Youth Orchestra will share the stage with the popular jazz show band “Platform Jazz” who, in the second half of the concert, will perform a shortened version of their recent sell-out “Swingtime” show. This showcases the velvet-voiced Shelley McLean singing great hits from the 30’s and 40’s such as “Hey Mambo”, “Blue Moon”, “My Baby just cares for me” and “L.O.V.E.”

The band led by Cathy Peacock will play big band tunes by Duke Ellington and Glenn Miller to name a few and will treat you to a large dose of nostalgia and elegance.

Three young crooners from Crawford will perform an item with the band.

To book for this concert call Nina on 082 877 1793 or email ildevos@crawfordschools.co.za.

Tickets cost R80 and R50 for pensioners and all students. The evening will take the form of a supper theatre so bring snacks and beverages. The concert starts at 6pm.
