Ballito’s Karen is a Mrs SA finalist

Teacher and modelling coach from Ballito is a semi-finalist for national title.

Ballito modelling teacher Karen Landman is one of the 100 semi-finalists for Mrs South Africa 2015.

“This is not only a beauty pageant competition but also a women’s enrichment programme,” said Landman.

In the 2011 competition Landman was crowned first princess.

Karen, who held the 2013 Mrs Durban title, describes herself as a person who thrives on helping those in need.

Landman said being the 2013 Mrs Durban had given her an amazing platform from which to encourage more people to help those in need.

“My biggest challenge used to be trying to keep everyone happy. Now I have come to realise that this is impossible, but that I must prioritise certain things in my life,” she said.

Currently a teacher at PLG Schools, Ballito Academy and at Simply Models, Landman said she loves working with children.

Landman has been married to Paul, her “high school sweetheart” for 21 years.

On keeping a balance between work and family time she said it took a lot of planning and support from her family.

Her daughter Melissa said that although her mum is a busy person, she has always been an awesome mother.

“My dream is to show others that they must never stop dreaming until their dreams are fulfilled,” said Landman.
