Guy Buttery and Nibs van der Spuy live at the Litchi Orchard this weekend.
Guitar-duo Guy Buttery and Nibs van der Spuy will be returning to Salt Rock for their first show in five years.
The Dolphin Coast has a special place in their hearts as this is where their collaborative works began.
In the last few years, both embarked on individual musical missions and now they will be heading to the Litchi Orchard in Salt Rock for a much-awaited reunion.
Following a successful string of concerts in South Africa, these internationally renowned musicians toured to many major festivals and venues throughout Europe and the UK accompanied by the release of their collaborative release “In the Shade of the Wild Fig”.
The duo also won the prestigious Standard Bank Ovation Award at The National Arts Festival as well as receiving a SAMA nomination for their album.
The album showcases their mutual interest and deep love for World Music and different folk movements featuring numerous instruments such as the cuatro, mbira, tampura, sitar and various acoustic guitars.
Their performances showcase their numerous recordings as well as the collected live work they have which is unique to every concert.
They capture the spirit of an exciting new South Africa, with its vast melting pot of influences and colour.
Catch them at the Litchi Orchard on Saturday, April 18 from 7pm.
