For Linc Church, Vision 153 and North Coast residents who attended the show, the Barry Hilton Fundraiser was a huge success.
The auditorium of Linc Church in Salt Rock was filled to the rafters as 800 people crammed themselves in for a night of eruptive laughter as comedian Barry Hilton took to the stage to raise a hearty R77 000 for Vision 153, who organised the event.
The funds will be split between community development projects currently being undertaken by the non-profit organisation and the purchase of their new land.
“Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket and a massive thank you to everyone who helped make this night such a great success,” said Gillian von Buddenbrock from Vision 153, who is also a member of the Linc congregation.
Von Buddenbrock said that the organisation was blown away by the number of people who turned out in support of the night and thanked Hilton for reducing the audience to tears of laughter.
“We are so grateful to everyone who made our fundraiser the biggest and best one yet – your generosity is what helps us make a difference, change a life and fight poverty,” she said.
