Getting ready for the crowning

The final moment for the Miss Ballito girls are around the corner.

Eight young girls are bubbling over with excitement as they prepare for the crowning evening of Miss Ballito 2015, which is less than three months away.

Current Miss Ballito, Kirsten Martins remembers how much she looked forward to the big event and gives the girls a sneak peak into the fun she has had so far this year.

“My days are pretty normal, with the occasional opportunity to do something great for those less fortunate in our community,” said Martins, who thoroughly enjoys working with charity organisations.

“The Miss Ballito Committee keeps me busy with events, appearances and more recently with motivational talks for the new Miss Ballito finalists,” she said.

Martins has a few important tips for the finalists, which has helped her become the healthy, kind role model she is today.

“The best tips I can give to the finalists is to keep healthy habits and exercise often, which makes you look and feel great with an added boost to your confidence. They should always be themselves and make the most of the experience the Miss Ballito pageant gives them.”

The one skill she finds particularly useful is public speaking and it is one that she has to work on continuously.

“It never hurts to be a bit more prepared,” she said.

With these tips in mind and the support and guidance they receive during their journey, the next Miss Ballito is bound to be ready for anything.
