Be book smart and fighting fit

Author will spend his birthday with children at a local school.

Thembeni author Lunga Ntuli will spend his 28th birthday on Friday, September 4 with the children from Nothando Edu-care centre.

“There is no better way that I could have dreamed of celebrating my birthday than to spend it with these children. I hope and pray that I can help these kids to not only be physically active but also to be smart in class,” said Ntuli.

The author of the bestseller ‘Why Men Cheat And Women Do It Better’ said that in the black communities there seems to be a gap, where kids cannot balance fun and academics.

Ntuli started collecting donations and bought books which he will donate to the school on the day, as well as sports equipment for the kids.

He has started a non profit organisation, Talent Is Never Enough, and has been coaching children at the early childhood development centres.

He said he felt there is a need to include the important component of education.

“The three most important things that have changed my life are sports, writing and reading. When my late mother said I must back my passion with education it did not make sense to me at the time. Over the years I have travelled through my passion and now I believe it is crucial that I inspire children in my community to do the same from a young age,” said Ntuli.

Ntuli is the author of three books including Love vs Sport and Izimpande Zempumelelo (‘Roots of Success’).

He holds three qualifications which include a national diploma in sport management, sport psychology and a FIFA sport management program.

Those who would like to be part of this program on Friday at 11am can contact Ntuli on 078 338 0849 or send him an email at lunga@lungan.co.za
