ENTER: Fishing family fun day at Dudley Pringle Dam
Cast a line for charity at the next Fishing Family Fun Day!

It’s that time of the year again where keen fishermen young and old put their fishing skills to the test, all for a good cause at the Sparesboyz Fishing Fun Day in aid of The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund.
Hosted at Dudley Pringle dam on Sunday, April 28, the event will run from 6am to 2pm, with prize giving taking place at 10.30am.
Like previous years, the event is not a fishing ‘competition’ and there will be no measuring and weighing of fish.
There will however be loads of excellent lucky draw prizes up for grabs throughout the morning and families are encouraged to bring their braai’s and picnic baskets and make a morning of it.
The focus is on family fun and affording fishermen the rare opportunity to fish the very productive, untouched waters of the Dudley Pringle dam, which is not normally open to the public, for one day only.
Anglers can target any species of fish in the dam (including bass, tilapia and barble).

RULES & REGULATIONS
- No wading in the water, all bank anglers must remain on the bank and may not enter the water.
- Water craft: Kick boats, paddle ski’s and small inflatable paddle boats are allowed. No motors. Max 2 people per craft.
- All craft will be inspected to make sure they are “sea worthy” (generally safe to fish from).
- All craft angles must have a life jacket (to be worn while launching the craft).
- No anglers will be permitted to fish unless they have signed an indemnity form and wear the event wristband.
- All fish in the dam can be targeted (bass, barbel and tilapia) – STRICTLY CATCH AND RELEASE! Anglers may use bait (worms, boilies, etc.) but no live baits at all (live fish of any kind).
- All fish must be released safely back to the dam. In the event of a gut hooked fish, please trim the line, so as to ensure no further damage to the fish.
- No fish may be removed from the premises.
- Care should be taken not to hold the fish out of the water for longer than a minute. Please keep the fish wet as long as possible and do not allow the fish to be placed on the grass as this removes its protective coating.
- Registration will start from 6am. Anglers can start fishing as soon as they are registered. Patrons may fish, braai and enjoy the dam until 2pm.
- Sporting behaviour and respect for other anglers are imperative.
- The dam provided is private property and has been sponsored for this event by the land owners. Please respect the fauna and flora and the privacy of the land owners. Any abuse will see us forfeiting any future use of these facilities.
- Do not litter, there are refuse bins provided. HEFTY FINES IF YOU ARE CAUGHT LITTERING. Please make sure discarded fishing line is destroyed as birdlife do tend to get caught up and sustain severe injuries.
- In case of bad weather, the event will continue. Please come prepared nevertheless.
