Lunga Ntuli to take his watches to Africa Fashion Week London
His colourful watches are inspired by the Zulu Love Letter beads.
Thembeni author and entrepreneur, Lunga Ntuli will be jetting off to the United Kingdom for the Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) on Tuesday, August 6.
Ntuli was invited to showcase his beaded watches brand, LN watches.
“It feels like a dream but with the emails coming in and preparations taking place, I am just grateful to God for what he is doing not only for the brand but also the community at large that is involved.
“I am going with the aim of starting lots of business relationships, because I want to make my brand global,” said Ntuli.
The young man who is famously known as the “Why men cheat and woman do it better” author, said the plan was always to create a watch brand that Africans affiliate with.
“Having self-published five books and four of those having to do with love, I realized that there was a link between my message and beads, inspired by the Zulu love letter colours.
Many years ago, before writing letters and cell phones, Zulu women used colour and beading to express feelings and communicate messages regarding gender and marital status, which became known as ‘The Zulu Love Letter’.
“With that in mind the second question was what would be our unique selling proposition and the answer was love, which is why I decided to use the beaded straps to communicate this.”
Ntuli will be doing tons of interviews, exhibiting and most importantly there will be a cat walk where models will walk on stage wearing the LN watch.
