Businesses hustle to win R1.4m in prizes

Businesses that need it most stand to win capital injection.

Shoprite has launched this year’s edition of the popular Hustle Competition.

Set up in 2018, the competition aims to help small business owners with an announced prize fund of R1.4 Million.

This year twenty winners from around the country will receive R50 000 in cash, and a Get Smarter course to the value of R20 000.

The aim is to give a boost to the businesses that need it most.

Success in the competition can be a launch pad for a small business, as in the case of Toys with Roots which was one of the winners of the inaugural competition.

side from the cash injection, the competition also led to Toys with Roots becoming a national supplier to Shoprite and Checkers stores with its Rainbow Kids dolls.

Shoprite are reaffirming their commitment to supporting SMME’s (small, medium and micro enterprises), particularly in light of the problems that many may have encountered with the Coronavirus pandemic.

Entrants to the competition must be 18 years old, a citizen or permanent resident of South Africa with a business that has been open for at least 6 months prior to the competition.

Entries must be submitted online at hustle.shoprite.co.za between 3 August – 4 September, with winners being announced in the period 14 September – 31 October 2020.
