Rockwood Theatre reopens virtually with greatest hits show
The show also doubles as a fundraiser for the theatre artists and employees who have not been able to work since March.
The Rockwood Theatre at Sibaya made its long awaited return last week, albeit virtually, staging the Ultimate Countdown, a collection of hit songs from the past few years.
“We are counting down some of the best songs from our show, and at the same time counting down in faith for the end of lockdown” said theatre owner and host, Andrew Webster.

The show features songs picked from a number of the past shows held at the venue, and guests will be able to sing along from the comfort of their own homes.
Rockwood Theatre has teamed up with online production and streaming company, DigiTv to deliver the spectacle to the fans.
The production includes six cameras, overlays, lighting effects and high quality sound to ensure home viewers get the full experience.
“Rockwood fans have grown accustomed to a certain level of quality, so we did not want to disappoint them with a half-baked show,” said Webster.
The show also doubles as a fundraiser for the theatre artists and employees who have not been able to work since March, said Webster.
The entire series will be hosted on the DigiTv platform from 18 to 27 September.
Shows run from 7pm, with afternoon shows also available on Saturdays and Sundays.
Tickets are R50 and can be bought at www.quicket.co.za
