Dying for some comedy? Hit Durban’s Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre

The Classical Comedy is a musical comedy you would not want to miss.

Get your dose of comedy with a collaboration between Macbob Production and the Durban City Orchestra (DCO) at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre until December 4.

Titled Classical Comedy, the outrageously hilarious musical comedy is joined by Durban’s own Aaron Mcilroy and Lisa Bobbert, who boldly go where no right-minded comedians should ever venture – the sacred space of the orchestra, where no sonata is sacred, and no movement left unmortified.

This is set to be a musical celebration fit for the whole family and guaranteed to bring a chuckle to Tchaikovsky.

Classical Comedy is directed by Darren King and choreographed by Daisy Spencer.

“For ages we have wanted to have fun with an orchestra musical. There are just so many delicious opportunities for great gags and brilliant music. It is something we have never done before, and something which is seldom done anywhere because it is a huge undertaking involving so many people! We are chuffed that the DCO is game to go on this crazy, uncharted adventure with us,” said Bobbert.

The core orchestra includes two accomplished professional musicians in Charl van der Merwe as Resident Conductor, and Jitske Brien as Concert Master.

Tickets, priced from R180 to R200, at Computicket.
