7 December – The 2022 Litchi Festival kicks off. Daily from 9am to 3pm (for about two weeks until supply runs out). Entry at R160 per person, toddlers (aged 3 and under) R50. 7 December – 2 January – Durban Botanic Gardens Trail of Lights, bigger and better than ever before. Tickets from R55. Times – 6, 7 and 8pm, with closing time set for 9.30pm. Tickets available at Webtickets.co.za.

8 December – KickStart presents Jack and the Beanstalk at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre, Durban. Daily shows until January 15. Tickets between R130 to R250, available at Computicket.

9 December – Chuck Bowden performs at The Market from 6-9pm.

10 December – Durban Hiking and Adventures brings you the Ballito Beach and Rock hike. Meet at Willard Beach main parking area from 8.15am. Tickets priced from R50, available at Quicket.co.za.
• Music on the Lawn at Ballito Junction’s level 6 outdoor astro turf area from midday to 3pm. Performance by In Deep. Entry is free.
• Litchi Orchard Farmer’s Market from 9am to 2pm.
• I Heart Market at Sugar Rush Park, open from 8.30am to 2pm.

11 December – The LIV Choir performs at The Market from 12.30-1.30pm.

16 December – Music on the Lawn at Ballito Junction’s level 6 astro turf area – free entry. Performance by Hale Mary midday to 3pm.
• Litchi Orchard Night Market, Salt Rock, from 4-9pm.

16-17 December – Schweppes Durban Gin Festival at the Sun Park area, Sibaya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom. Tickets from R220 per person, available at www.howler.co.za. Complimentary gin cocktail on arrival.

17 December – The Sugar Market presents a Christmas Market and Inflatable Fun Day at Salt Rock Country Club from 10am to 5pm. Entry is free. Information at thesugarmarket032@gmail.com.
• I Heart Market at Sugar Rush Park, open from 8.30am to 2pm.

21 December – Christmas Carols at Night by All Saints Catholic Church at Ballito Junction’s level 6 astro turf area from 6.30-8.30pm.

23 December – Carols by Candlelight at the Litchi Orchard from 4-9pm.
