Custom car owners rally in Tinley Manor for winter relief effort

The rally will bring aid to Verulam's needy.

At least 50 customised cars snaked into Tinley Manor in a convoy for a good cause last Wednesday.

Zahir Ebrahim had heads turning with his E30 BMW “Igusheshe” as it is widely known in the townships.

Petrolheads from KwaDukuza and Durban donated blankets and throws to Pinelands Community Church.

Pastor Daryl Moonsamy said the blankets would be distributed among the poor in Verulam.

Kevi Mothilal cruised in from Tongaat in his Golf2.

“We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all the people who came to support the event. These blankets will surely make a difference to the people who need it the most this winter,” said Pastor Moonsamy.

One of the organisers, Ranesh Mahabeer, chairperson of the KwaZulu-Natal Dubs Club, said organisers Stance Culture International and Content Chasers appreciated the support more than words could express.

“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your generous contributions. With supporters and participants like you, we know we can achieve our goals. We could not do it without donors like you guys. Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us make a positive impact on someone’s life this winter,” said Mahabeer.
