Marks Park came alive with the 2013 Latin Festival, ‘Celebrando Latino America’ on 3 November. The event brought people from many different cultures together to celebrate the diversity of Latin America with food, music, dance and camaraderie.

The all-day event featured authentic Latin cuisine such as paella, sangria, Brazilian bonbons and asado criollo. Organizers even bragged that the celebration was the first time that ten different Latin cuisines were represented at a single event. Guests were treated to traditional dance styles of Latin America such as Valicha from Peru, Capoeira from Brazil and Argentinian Tango. Children had fun swinging away at a piñata for the goodies inside.

Special guests in attendance included the attachés from the consuls of Peru, Spain, Italy and Trinidad.
