Victory Park residents team up with CAP Security to repaint Delta Park fence
Months of structural repairs and rust treatment paved the way for a massive community painting day along Leighton Road.
Victory Park residents and CAP Security joined forces on August 29 to paint a 1km-long palisade fence bordering Delta Park.
The initiative, hosted by CAP Security Victory Park, formed part of the organisation’s broader efforts to beautify and maintain the area surrounding the park.

The head of CAP Security Victory Park, Michael Block, said the project was about more than improving appearances.
“We’re very involved in the environment,” he said, explaining that CAP’s green team has spent years assisting with projects around the park, including maintaining surrounding areas, installing solar lights and repairing infrastructure.

Before the painting could begin, the fence required months of preparation.
CAP repaired damaged palisades and gates, sanded and wire-brushed the fencing, and treated rust along the structure.
The scale of the project was considerable, with both sides of the 1km fence requiring attention.

Block said the idea was to encourage the community to take ownership of the project, with Victory Park’s 366 households invited to contribute by painting a small section.

The response brought together people from across the community, alongside CAP’s green team, tactical officers and other staff members. For Block, a well-maintained public space can help encourage people to use and enjoy Delta Park with confidence.
“We want to bring people back into the park. We want people to know they can come in, they’re safe, it’s clean and it’s beautiful.”

While the painting day was a major push, work will continue if the entire fence is not completed. Block said the newly painted fence would stand as a reminder of what a galvanised community can achieve when working together.
