What’s your take on the Oscar Pistorius verdict?

CRESTA- As the Oscar Pistorius trial trended on social media, most people had a word or two to say about the judgement delivered by Judge Thokozile Masipa. Residents share their views on the verdict.

Oscar Pistorius, also known as the ‘blade runner’, and previously considered South Africa’s golden boy was found not guilty of murder, following the shooting and killing of his then girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in 2013. He was found guilty of culpable homicide instead by Judge Thokozile Masipa who handed down her judgment in the North Gauteng High Court on 12 September. Sentencing is set down for 13 to 16 October.

The judgment has sparked a lot of criticism, outrage and confusion.
