UPDATE: Transnet leaves bomb scare in SAPS’ hands

PARKTOWN – Transnet to leave the bomb scare case in the hands of the police.

Transnet spokesperson Sandile Sinelane said that the company is leaving the incident of the bomb scare that happened on 12 November at The Inyanda House in Parktown in the hands of the SAPS.

Sinelane said the case will be investigated further by police and hopefully more details will be determined.

He said Transnet received a call in the morning that there were bombs in the building and they responded according to their safety procedures.

“Everybody was evacuated from the building immediately and the Hilbrow SAPs was notified,”said Sinelane.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Mduduzi Zondo said the SAPS K9 Unit was called to the scene to investigate the matter.

“After several hours of searching the buildings it was declared safe,” said Sgt Zondo.
