Three critically injured in early morning accident
CONSTANTIA – Reason for accident is still unknown.
Three people were critically injured after they were involved in a crash on the N1 between Beyers Naudé Drive and 14th Avenue.
According to ER24 spokesperson Pieter Rossouw, the accident occurred around 5am this morning and involved only one vehicle. The vehicle allegedly lost control and crashed into a tree on the side of the road. When ER24 arrived on scene, they found that the vehicle had three passengers entrapped in the wreckage. With the assistance of the fire department, paramedics extricated and treated the patients.
ER24 treated and transported one patient to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital. The other two patients were treated and transported by other medical services on scene.
“The cause of the collision is still unknown, local authorities were on scene for further investigation,” said Rossouw.
