Marang House says thank you
NORTHCLIFF – Marang House would like to thank all their sponsors and everyone who made their fundraisers a success this year.
Marang House is a registered non-profit organisation which provides a home for, and takes care of, children who are suffering from chronic illnesses such as lung disease, diabetes and renal failure.
Manager of the organisation, Melanie Tennant said that the home caters for children between the ages of four and 14 and they currently have 13 children in their care.
“Our highlight [this year] was that we were able to purchase a good second-hand bus which we desperately needed as our previous bus was 11 years old and very tired. We would like to thank all of our sponsors and donors, especially McDonalds, Beagle Watch and Paul Maher, who made this possible by ensuring the safety of our children,” said Tennant.
She thanked all the organisation’s wonderful sponsors, donors and volunteers who assisted them this year in various ways. “We could not have fulfilled the children’s needs without donations, time, dedication and passion,” said Tennant. In October Marang House hosted a successful Art in the Garden morning fundraiser and thanked everyone who made the day possible. Tennant added that she hoped the organisation will run more successful initiatives next year.
“Our wishlist for this festive season is a good second-hand or new vacuum cleaner, three quarter duvet covers, school shoes, school uniforms and non-perishable groceries. We are always delighted to receive items that we cannot use ourselves and can be sold in our charity shop to raise much-needed funds for the home.”
