Fun fête for all at Franklin D Roosevelt Primary

ROOSEVELT PARK – Franklin D Roosevelt hosts their annual school fête for all to enjoy.

Franklin D Roosevelt Primary School raised a whopping R70 000 at the school’s annual fête.

The school recently hosted the event where schoolchildren and their families were invited to enjoy a day filled with great atmosphere and cheer for all to be engulfed by.

Principal of the school, Hilton Westlake said the day was special because it brought everyone together and created a wonderful spirit of cooperation to achieve a common goal.

“It also brought parents, staff, learners and members of the community together.”

Foefie slides were added to make the day even more memorable.

Adding it was an awesome day which was enjoyed by all who attended. He said he was extremely proud of how everyone, particularly the staff, worked tirelessly to create such a successful occasion. The money raised from the event will go toward funding projects set out for next year such resurfacing the netball courts, which, as Westlake shared, can be a big expense.

Great fun is had as children get ready for a fun ride at the fête.

Local business entrepreneurs were also invited to sell their goods. Special guest of honour included local radio show host, DJ Fresh who made everyone happy as they managed to take photos with him.

Along with the many stalls filled with nifty items the children found hard to resist, they were entertained by the funfair which had a selection of exciting rides and inflatables such as a foefie slide, shooting range and a mechanical bull, among many others.

“There were other games in the hall for children to try their skill at and win prizes,” said Westlake.
