Northcliff Union Church lends a helping hand to Eeufees Oord Old Age Home residents
WESTDENE – Northcliff Union Church conducts outreach programmes throughout various communities.
Northcliff Union Church brought some much-needed change to Eeufees Oord Old Age Home through one of its many outreach programmes.
The church recently gathered a group of about 120 members of its congregation to conduct outreach programmes in four local community initiatives so as to provide practical relief and aid.
One project was to revitalise the State-owned Eufees Old Age Home which has 59 semi-detached cottages in Westdene.

“No maintenance is done by the state, so we undertook plumbing, window replacement, electrical work, cleaning and gardening. Also, where technical experts were required, licensed professionals were brought in.
“We wanted to make a meaningful impact on the day, but have an ongoing programme which will also roll out to resolve issues,” said pastor of the church, Gavin Wood.
The teams also visited several of the residents who needed counselling and then provided a hot lunch to all the residents. At least six people were too frail to collect their meals, which were taken to them.

The church also provided professional services such as medical, legal and counselling to the Windsor community. This was done together with a fraternal of churches who work together to deliver sustainable services in the community.
Church members also visited Marang House and played games with the children.
