Children’s Haematology Oncology Childhood (Choc) Cancer Foundation South Africa is challenging South Africans to support children with cancer by buying a gold beaded ribbon from Choc.
The organisation was founded in 1979 to act as a support system for parents who have children with cancer. Choc since grown and now has six regional offices, two branches and 13 accommodation facilities. Its head office is located in Rivonia, Sandton.
Gold beaded ribbons are available at the Choc online store or at one of its regional offices.
How to become involved:
- Buy a gold beaded ribbon
- Wear it throughout the month of September
- Share photos wearing the ribbon on social media
- Learn the early warning signs of childhood cancer
- Spread the word.
When posting on social media, the hashtags #BeBoldGoGold, #ChildhoodCancer, #CHOC and #CancerAwarenessMonth should be used.
