Northcliff Primary School is D-E-L-I-G-H-T-E-D with a Grade 3 child who placed first in a district level spellathon.
The competition took place on 6 August and Michaela Luphondo proved she is the spelling bee queen. She took first place in the English Home Language Foundation Phase category.
Her win has not only earned her bragging rights but also entry to the provincial level spellathon which will take place in October this year.
According to Jeanine Kerr, principal of the school, Luphondo receives a tremendous amount of support from her parents. Kerr thanked Luphondo and her parents for all their hard work.
“Northcliff Primary wishes her every success in the coming round and looks forward to pleasing results. Well done, Michaela, you have made us very proud,” Kerr said.
