MTN users’ data vanishes after unsuccessful system upgrade
FAIRLAND – Inconvenience upsets MTN users.
MTN has released a statement regarding why many users are unable to make calls or access their data.
According to the telecoms giant, the problem is due to an unsuccessful systems upgrade which resulted in the data fault currently affecting users in Randburg and Cape Town.
1/2: MTN undertook an upgrade on a section of its network last night. The upgrade was unfortunately unsuccessful and has resulted in a data fault on the network serving Randburg and parts of Cape Town. Only the data service is affected, voice systems remain fully functional.

They have faced anger from their users with many tweeting them about the latest technically glitch.
Thanks for the feedback…but perhaps some communication prior to the upgrades and a note of potential disruptions may help, it's frustrating to wake up and find data not working and we have no idea why not..

Some commented that they are experiencing the same problem outside of areas mentioned by MTN.
