Children host a tea party at Sunbeams Montessori

Sunbeams Montessori pupils host a tea party for parents.

Sunbeams Montessori Pre-school hosted a tea party for parents and guardians on 26 April.

Claire FerrĂȘtt, who owns the pre-school, asked parents to contribute to the tea party by donating cupcakes, sandwiches, spring rolls, doughnuts, coffee and tea for the little ones to sell.

The children were excited to be selling food and beverages to parents and having them at school sharing a meal with them.

“The reason we do the tea party is once a year is our annual fundraiser. Our school is Montessori-based and Maria Montesorri believed that children need to be independent so we do this so that they can learn how to use money independently and it’s also good for our older children so they can show their parents that they can do this,” said FerrĂȘtt.

“Its a big life lesson for them; we really believe that this is stuff they need to be able to do as they get older.”
