Oscar Plange’s feedback after Ward 88 by-elections

Feeback from Oscar Plange to David Hensman, the DA and Ward 88 residents.

After the by-election results came out on 26 April, residents now have their new councillor, David Hensman. One of the candidates was Oscar Plange who had feedback for the newly elected councillor, the Democratic Alliance and the residents of ward 88.

“David Hensman, congratulations on your election as the councillor in Ward 88. I wish you the best. We would like to offer you our support in any way we can and ask that you please contact us should you need it, in the best interests of the residents.

“We would like to confirm to you that we will be holding you accountable to what you have promised in your campaign. We expect you to be available, responsive, efficient and successful in resolving residents’ issues with the City of Johannesburg,” said Plange.

Plange also congratulated the DA for its newly elected councillor, stating that the DA’s campaign revolved around his inexperience.

“You have offered absolutely nothing else and this portrays weak leadership; you have no objectives and no plans, except for charging residents more for what you don’t deliver.

Your campaign is fear-based and will have a very short life. You have misled voters regarding my ability to support you and contribute to you in council and our abilities as a team more than offset my inexperience.” said Plange.

Plange went on to ensure residents that he will change the name of his organisation from Northcliff Residents’ Association to Ward 88 Residents and that they will continue to support community champions, they will improve their communication and grow their membership.

“We will form an umbrella organisation to which we and other residents associations can be part of,” said Plange.
