Tea party for the elderly at Gem Homes

ROOSEVELT PARK – Let's Work and Ward 88 stretch out their hands to the elderly at Gem Homes as part of Mandela Day

Some lucky senior citizens spent Mandela Day indulging in some treats at a tea party.

Ward 88 councillor David Hensman together with Felicity Lawlor of Let’s Work hosted the party at Gem Homes for Senior Citizens as part of Mandela Day.

The elderly were very happy to be hosted and enjoyed some tea, coffee and cake at their home.

Felicity Lawlor, David Hensman, and the Let’s Work team made the day possible at GEM Homes.

Hensman said, “Today is Mandela Day where we honour Nelson Mandela, and his humility made him a great man and I want to stress that today. I would like to thank Felicity and her Let’s Work team for putting this day together for us. Let’s enjoy!”

The senior citizens had a good chat with Hensman and learnt more about the ward.
